WESTIMAGE is proud to have two scanners at its center, the 1.5T and the 3.0T.  Most out-patient centers only have one scanner available.   WESTIMAGE scanners have larger openings and a shorter bore.  The well-lit, vented design allows patients to feel more comfortable. 

At WESTIMAGE we are able to do many advanced MRI and MRA scans.  For example, WESTIMAGE is capable of doing MRS, which is a MR2 spectroscopy scan.  Spectroscopy is usually ordered to evaluate a tumor or mass in the brain.  It is a quantitative method of display of non-aqueous signals that correspond to certain biological molecules of the brain. 

WESTIMAGE also performs Functional MRI Scans.  This is done to visualize brain function.  fMRI can be used to find out what the brain is doing when a subject performs a specific task or is exposed to specific stimuli.  For example a patient is given a noun and ask to think of a verb or may be asked to squeeze a ball.

WESTIMAGE also has PACS (Picture Archive Communicating System.)  Through PACS your scans are stored on the WESTIMAGE Web Server and can be viewed by your doctor on his or her personal computer, anywhere.
