Image Comparison

1.5T Scanner

An elderly patient with poor cardiac output causes MRA studies to be less than optimal, as shown above in images performed by a 1.5T scanner.

3.0T Scanner

Same patient on the same day. MRA demonstrates clear imaging of unmatched superiority on the 3.0T scanner.

Angiography

True 1024 acquisitions allow non-contrast MR Angiography techniques to surpass in-plane resolution of conventional, digital x-ray angiography. The GE 8-channel 3.0 T Neurovascular Array provides the imaging capability needed for a complete neurovascular exam, including high-resolution carotids acquired in less than three minutes.

3.0 T SNR supports true 1024 acquisitions, as seen in these time-of-flight Circle of Willis.

Diffusion Tensor Imaging

Dynamic perfusion MRI DTI with 3.0T scanner are unique and extremely informative in brain studies.
MR spectroscopy provides chemical information at the cellular level. The 3.0T MRI scanner can measure the virulence of multiple sclerosis (MS) and help physicians be more exact and aggressive in treating the disease. MS diagnosis is by 3.0T MRI with fMRI and tensor imaging and tractography and is unmatched by any other MRI scanner.

Ear, Nose, and Throat

GE's 3.0T pulse sequence optimization demonstrates artifact-free 0.3mm effective slice thinness through the internal auditory canals.

Functional MRI

Not only does this complement neurological and neurosurgical workup, and psychological disorders, it is becoming part of evaluating the prognosis of patients with brain lesions, providing complete neuro workup.

Lava and Echo

LAVA (Liver Acquisition with Volume Acceleration) provides for better abdominal image quality while overcoming the organ motion challenge. The superior homogeneity of the Signa EXCITE 3.0T system enables excellent coverage in abdominal imaging. HD LAVA tackles the difficult challenge of 3D abdominal imaging with highly uniform, efficient fat suppression.

MR Echo produces high-definition cardiac images in real time, in even the sickest patients- without the need for breath holding or even ECG gating. With MR Echo, physicians can complete a full cardiac function exam in two minutes, and obtain all the views needed without cardiac gating or patient cooperation.

Neuroimaging

3.0 Tesla imaging provides excellent resolution for advanced brain studies. Our high resolution brain coil provides true 1024 acquisitions and enables unprecedented visualization of neuroanatomy.

Orthopedics

Go ahead. Push the system hard, with large FOV imaging exams on taller and heavier patients. Or off-center FOV imaging applications, such as shoulder, hip, and wrist studies. Thin-slice fat supression is essential in orthopedic imaging. GE's 3.0T extremity coil makes this a robust and routine procedure.
Want perfect fat saturation in the shoulder on every exam that you scan? A reality with 3.0T EXCITE HD. Wrists scanned with the patients arm by their side- enabled by the superior design of the 3.0T EXCITE HD magnet.

Propeller

HD Propeller is not bothered by patient motion, so you can get a quality diagnosis on virtually every brain study.

Motion Artifact Propeller
PROPELLER allows for excellent image quality in head studies, consistently, even with moving, pediatric, elderly, and confused patients- without sedation or anesthesia. A complex reconstruction process produces clear , high resolution images even in the most active patients, with much less sensitivity to motion and susceptibility artifacts .

Prostate

The Signa EXCITE 3.0T system provides high quality prostate imaging without the use of endorectal coil.

Spectroscopy

The higher SNR and greater dispersion afforded at 3.0T increase diagnostic confidence.
3.0T imaging provides excellent clinical spectra as seen in the below Spectroscopy study of the posterior fossa.

Spine Images

MR Myelography, without usage of dye or injection, with superior clarity and detail.

80-second high resolution imaging enables a total cervical spine study in less than five minutes .

Tractography

Imaging to a T

These capabilities are so advanced and so progressive that they are becoming part of the workup and treatment plan for brain lesions, including tumors, strokes, and multiple sclerosis, etc.

Tricks

With HD TRICKS, you can have it all- and simplify Angiography in any patient. TRICKS (Time Resolved Imaging Contrast Kinetics) makes it possible for physicians to eliminate the trade-off between spacial and temporal resolution that usually occurs with conventional MR Angiography.
Imagine capturing a perfect arterial phase in the cartoids every time.
Large FOV angiography is routine with GE's 3.0T.

Use HD TRICKS anywhere that multi-phase temporal information is needed- even in the hand.

Vibrant

VIBRANT (Volume Imaging for Breast AssessmeNT) provides high-definition bilateral breast imaging in one exam. With VIBRANT, physicians can image both breasts in one patient visit, obtain high temporal resolution without sacrificing spatial resolution, eliminate fat with absolute reliabilty and confidence for better visualization, and utilize the bilateral breast imaging technique that is the most sensitive to the patient's needs.
